Meet Julia

Every child has something worth saying.

I am Julia Gerhard, a speech-language pathologist and the founder of Ivory Speech Therapy. I have spent six years building a practice around one belief: that every child communicates in their own way, and our job is to meet them there.

"I do not believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Some kids do their best talking next to a horse. Some do it while they are cooking. My job is to figure out where your child comes alive."

I specialize in late talkers, early language, social communication, and speech sound disorders. I work with children from early intervention through adolescence, and I am licensed in both Florida and Pennsylvania. I studied family-centered care and a vast variety of pediatric medical conditions as part of the Leadership and Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) Program during my Clinical Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. From there, I continued my work in speech pathology at major medical centers prior to beginning my own private practice.

I started Ivory Speech Therapy because I wanted to build something that felt different — a practice that is neurodiversity-affirming, family-centered, and genuinely creative. Six years later, I am proud of what this community has become.
